Tallahassee, FL · Stadium and campus LED retrofit
Florida State University needed lighting upgrades across athletic and campus facilities that met NCAA and broadcast standards while reducing the university's energy footprint. We delivered a retrofit that hit every technical requirement.
The Problem
University athletics facilities have some of the most demanding lighting requirements in commercial construction — broadcast-quality color rendering for game film and TV, IES-compliant field uniformity for player safety, and the ability to bring lights up instantly for schedule changes. FSU's aging system was falling short on all three.
The Approach
We designed to NCAA and IES RP-6-22 standards for athletic facilities, specified broadcast-grade LED fixtures with CRI 90+ for camera quality, and coordinated the install around the athletic calendar. Every fixture was commissioned and verified against the design spec before handoff.
The Results
The retrofit delivered broadcast-quality lighting that meets NCAA standards for Division I athletics — CRI 90+ for game film and television, IES RP-6-22 uniformity for player safety, and instant-on capability for schedule changes. Every fixture was commissioned and verified against the design spec before handoff.
