The Alabama A&M Bulldogs football stadium needed broadcast-quality field lighting for night games and game-film capture. We designed and installed a full LED retrofit and secured over $162K in TVA EnergyRight rebates before the first fixture shipped.
The Problem
The existing metal halide stadium lighting was failing, slow to restrike, and couldn't deliver the uniformity or color quality modern broadcast capture requires. Warm-up delays made halftime restart a problem. Energy costs were climbing year over year.
The Approach
We designed a new IES RP-6-22 compliant fixture layout for broadcast-quality capture, secured $162K in TVA EnergyRight rebates up front, and installed new LED sports fixtures with instant-on capability and broadcast-grade color rendering.
The Results
50% energy reduction, broadcast-quality field coverage, instant on/off with no warm-up delay, and a payback period that beat the internal projections by a wide margin. The rebate alone paid for a meaningful portion of the project before it was even complete.
