A large open-air retail center in Hoover with aging HID fixtures creating uneven light levels and dark spots across the parking lot. Full exterior LED retrofit delivered uniform illumination and transformed how the property looks at night.
The Problem
The existing metal halide system was losing 30-50% of its output as fixtures aged. Some rows were bright, others were nearly dark. The maintenance team was replacing ballasts weekly. Shoppers were complaining about safety and tenants were noting fewer evening visits.
The Approach
We mapped every existing pole, calculated new IES-compliant fixture spacing, and specified 150W LED replacements to bring uniformity above 15:1 across the entire lot. Perimeter building mounts were replaced in parallel. Night install schedule kept the center open throughout.
